Star Wars Galaxies - Guide To The Corellian Corvette
For the last several days, players throughout the Star Wars Galaxies have tried their luck in the new individualized quest known as the Corellian Corvette. Trust me when I tell you that many, Many, MANY people have died obtaining some of the answers provided here for you. Use them wisely and be safe:
What is the Corellian Corvette in Star Wars Galaxies I am hearing so much about? (Star Wars Galaxies)
According to developers of Star Wars Galaxies, “The Corellian Corvette is our first "space-based" adventure and a familiar Star Wars Galaxies setting with nine separate quests. Glistening white hallways and dark access ways crisscross the decks of the famed Rebel blockade runner from A New Hope. Players must complete one of nine possible missions to receive a shuttle ticket to the Corvette. There are three missions for Rebels, three missions for Imperials and three missions for neutral players. Depending on which quest players take will depend on which objectives must be achieved while on the Star Wars Galaxies Corvette.”
The Corvette is more of a dungeon-like adventure in Star Wars Galaxies than it is outer-space event. No space travel is done, no actual flying. However, all events and actions on board this adventure give an appearance of space travel. The missions are extremely difficult and are targeted toward the ‘master’ professions.
Another unique quality in the Star Wars Galaxies Corvette is the ‘instancing’ of the mission. Only you and your group control the outcome. As a benefit to the instancing, no one can steal your kills (except other groupmembers), and you do not need to worry about attack from other players of other factions. You are truly alone in this unique setting. As a result, you are given a limited time to complete your objectives before your mission becomes a failure.
I am Rebel and having problems locating all the starting points for the missions that I can do. Can you get me started? (Star Wars Galaxies)
Well believe it or not, there are more missions available to you then just the Rebel Destroy, Rebel Assassination and Rebel Destroy missions. As a rebel you can perform all of the Rebel missions as well as the Neutral missions. Here are the waypoints acquired for each of three variations, listed by faction:
Imperial Missions
Lieutenant Sabol (Assassination): Tatooine, Bestine -1291 -3539
Colonel Darkstone (Rescue): Imperial Oasis on Tatooine -5321 2702
Lieutenant Velso (Destroy): Emperor’s retreat, Naboo Across from Elevator to the Emperors Room
Neutral Missions
Bronell (Assassination): Jabba's Palace, Tatooine 2nd Floor by Ephont Mon
Yondalla (Rescue): Wayfar, Tatooine Inside Cantina
Bruce McBrain (Destroy): Jabba's Palace, Tatooine Entrance area
Rebel Missions
Pashna Starkiller (Assassination): Corellia, Bela Vistal 6772 -5697
Adar Tallon (Rescue): Corellia, Tyrena -5448 -2674
Master Sergeant Crowley (Destroy): Corellia, Kor Vella -3404 3092
I am having trouble finding the document I need to turn in for the Imperial Assassination mission from Sabol. Any one able to help? (Star Wars Galaxies)
You are given three possible spots where the Document can be found. Only one of them will provide the necessary ingredient. Once you locate what you need and obtain it, you can ignore the remaining locations assigned by the mission provider. Here are the known waypoints for each of the 9 missions.
Imperial Assassination (from Lieutenant Sabol) (Star Wars Galaxies)
1. Afarah Cave (on Corellia): [-2555 3005] Located in the cave outside of Kor Vela. It is found in one of the black containers. It will be the one that has a radial search window appear on inspection.
2. Abandoned Rebel Base (on Dantooine): [-6676 5557] A black container can be found in a building on the right as you go in the gate. It will be the one that has a radial search window appear on inspection.
3. Downed Space Craft (on Dathomir): [5690 1940 – Just outside the Dathomir Outpost] A Document is located inside the crashed spacecraft North East of outpost. You get this from talking to a commoner at the outpost. The given waypoint is in the NE direction, not the NW like the Lieutenant initially informs you.
Imperial Rescue (from Colonel Darkstone) (Star Wars Galaxies)
1. Droid Engineer Cave (on Lok): [Point of Interest - South face of Volcano] On arrival type /target storage to select the container. Follow your beacon to the bottom of the cave. Take the left branch. There are Droidekas down there which can be tough, but some buffs and a few friends were enough for me. Run past the droidekas and keep the storage container selected. Search it and run back out.
2. Rogue CorSec Base (on Corellia): [5200 1600] On arrival type /target storage to select the container. Follow your beacon to the bottom. It is in the smaller Multi-Level building at the very bottom.
3. Woolamander Palace (on Yavin 4): [Point of Interest – Just inside entrance] Once inside stay to the right and sneak past any Woolamanders in the entrance chamber. You're looking for a small container; its along the right wall as you walk in near the harrowers (and they do deathblow so keep on the move).
Imperial Destroy (from Lieutenant Velso) (Star Wars Galaxies)
1. Anchorhead (on Tatooine): [Anchorhead Cantina] The codes can be found in a container next to the Rebel Recruiter in the Cantina.
2. Janta Stronghold (on Dantooine): [Point of Interest] Find the drum near the bottom of the cave. It is adjacent to a Mag-Seal container and is the only searchable item which is not a Mag-Seal container.
3. Erran Sif Bunker (on Talus): [Point of Interest] Search one of the desks on the next to lowest level
Neutral Assassination (from Bronell) (Star Wars Galaxies)
1. Binayre Pirates (on Talus): [Point of Interest]
2. Pirate Bunker (on Naboo): [-1510 -1730]
3. Canyon Corsairs (on Lok): [Point of Interest]
Neutral Rescue (from Yondalla) (Star Wars Galaxies)
1. Kahmurra Bio-Genitics Lab (on Talus): [Point of Interest] Item found in a ‘Rusty’ container near the bottom of the Lab.
2. Lord Nyax Hideout (on Corellia): [Point of Interest] Item needed can be found in Bookcase just before you get to Lord Nyax's room.
3. Korgas (on Endor): [Point of Interest - Korga Cave] Document is in a ‘Rusty’ container. Turn right at the fork in the cave, and follow that path all the way to the back.
Neutral Destroy (from Bruce McBrain) (Star Wars Galaxies)
1. Maulers Stronghold (on Naboo): [Point of Interest] (Star Wars Galaxies)
2. Rogue CorSec (on Corellia): [Point of Interest] (Star Wars Galaxies)
3. Nightsister Slave Camp (on Dathomir): [Point of Interest] Enter the Slave Camp and open up your overhead map (Ctrl+M). There is a ‘Decayed’ container in a small alcove off to the side of the first large open area displayed in the overhead map. You do not need to go too far down. Once in the alcove select the container and examine with the pop-up radial menu.
Rebel Assassination (from Pashna Starkiller) (Star Wars Galaxies)
1. Geonosian Cave (on Yavin 4): In reactor room (code 51892) where you hand in the datapad. It is inside a desk along the left wall of the room.
2. Fort Tusken (on Tatooine): Enter through the cave. The item can be found in the second room. It is inside a small crate on the floor.
3. Mokk Stronghold (on Dantooine): [-7060 -3320] Go into the small hut to the left of main hut in the stronghold. Item can be found inside a large drum in the hut.
Rebel Rescue (from Adar Tallon) (Star Wars Galaxies)
1. The Warren (on Dantooine): [-520 -3875] Search the table in the first big room.
2. Crash site (on Lok): [3650 2180] Item can be found in a crate in a small room.
3. Imperial Prison Camp (on Dathomir): [-6350 750] The item can be found inside a storage crate inside the cell buildings.
Rebel Destroy (from Master Sergeant Crowley) (Star Wars Galaxies)
1. Imperial Outpost (on Lok): [-1890 -3030] Item can be found in a small metal storage crate.
2. Corbal Cave (on Rori): [5450 5020, Start in Restuss] Find the item in a bookshelf on the second level of the complex.
3. Imperial Prison Camp (on Dathomir) [-6300 750] Item can be found in one of the small storage drums.
How many people can do a mission together and does everyone need a ticket to get onboard, or just the group leader? (Star Wars Galaxies)
Groups of 10 can go onboard together to complete a mission. Only one person needs to have a ticket and this person does not need to be the leader. Group members can be added to the ticketholder’s group after you get your ticket, it does not matter if they were with you when you took the mission.
You cannot have group members in your group that do not have the appropriate faction for the mission. Pets can be used, but can only be called once you arrive onboard. Yes, you can have 10 players + pets on board if you need extra firepower. AT-ST’s are very powerful on board, but be very careful with them. They can be killed very easily if their master gets Icapped in a tough fight—Especially against Super Battle Droids.
***Note that as long as the ticket holder stays alive, the spawns on board will not reset.
How tough are the NPCs on the Corvette? (Star Wars Galaxies)
REALLY TOUGH…NPCs range in difficulty as you go further and further into your mission with some of your targets having well over 100K of HAM, which is way above normal for most spawns in Star Wars Galaxies.. Some targets have over 95% resistances to certain weapons. Planning and balancing a group are both a must. 'Discretion is the Better Part of Valor' and sometimes combat is not the best choice. Smart decisions will be the difference between life and death. Here are some statistics of a couple of your opponent--awaiting you on board.
The good news is that not all your adversaries onboard are friendly to one another. The Super Battle Droids and the Stormtroopers are NOT friends and will attach each other. This is something you can use to your advantage!
What does it mean when I hear people are getting ‘grieved’ in the Corellian Corvette missions? (Star Wars Galaxies)
Grieving is a term that has been cried out by Jedi since Star Wars Galaxies Publish 7 was implemented and now is also occurring to some players who die during the Corvette missions. Grieving occurs when a player clones after being killed, and is aggroed in the cloning center and immediately attacked, by another player (who is usually waiting for them) in the case of a Jedi, or by enemy NPCs while onboard the Corvette. This will not occur to a group as long as the ticketholder remains alive. Once the ticketholder is killed, all spawns onboard will reset and make life tough for anyone onboard.
The big problem in Star Wars Galaxies with Grieving is that it is a deathcycle for the player. Every time a player dies, they accept clone activation, reappear at the Clone Center and get killed again and again. The real loser in this event is the player's armor. Without the ability to purchase Insurance for the armor, the armor continues to degrade at the unprotected rate. High quality armor is wiped out in no time. Sadly on board the Corvette, the only way out is the Shuttlepod and it is a good jog from the Clone Center. Be careful!
Does anyone at the Center have any tips on finding my way around the Corvette while doing missions? (Star Wars Galaxies)
First off, the layout of the Corvette never changes. The objectives that you need to reach are different for every mission, but the rooms and corridors remain constant. While not much of a mapmaker myself, I have obtained some excellent maps with objectives for some of various mission types. Some excellent layouts can be obtained from the game guides section of the official forum site. Additionally, some mission objectives can be homed in on with the use of the /target command. Here are some commands that will definitely come in handy for the ‘destroy’ missions you attempt. These can be created upon arrival to the Corvette:
/target fuel
/target engine
/target security
/target spare
/target hyperdrive
These commands will create waypoints for targets on board the Corvette and help you get around when time is of the essence.
What cool loot do I get? (Star Wars Galaxies)
Everyone in the group who successfully completes the mission receives the new corvette speeder AV-21 schematic. The only things I've seen confirmed at this point are the Berserker Rifle schematic, Rifle Stabilizer Unit (rare part for the Berserker Rifle), and AV-21 power plant (needed to construct a speeder with the AV-21 schematic. We also obtained a useless Bantha Doll XD, not sure if it will have an application in the future. I understand some awesome +15 Skill Enhancement Attachments have fallen, and some players have obtained rebel faction armor that is the same as regular rebel faction armor & miscellaneous clothing items with a small rebel logo on it. Throughout the Corvette are Armoires (I believe there are 4 such containers on the Corvette) which you can search for items. The AV-21 power plant can randomly be found on the Defunct Droid.
Here are the stats of a rifle made the looted schematics:
Corvette Berserker Rifle
Heat Damage
Armor Piercing: None
Damage:165-336
Speed: 5.3
Wound: 45.1%
Range Modifiers: -20 0m/+76 25m/-80 64m
Velure, have you tried to take your Jedi into the Corvette since it is an instanced quest? (Star Wars Galaxies)
Yes, and I am very lucky to have gotten out in one piece! Five of us went in—My Master Commando/Master TKA, Master Doctor/Master Combat Medic, Master TKA/Master Smuggler, a Master Dancer/Master Musician (a waste), and the Jedi. I anticipated that my Jedi would have a major impact on the fight. That changed when we started inspecting the targets on board some of which have 95% kinetic protection (that of my saber). That same Kinetic resistance made our two Master Terras Kasi nothing more than meat shields for the group and thank god we had my Combat Medic covering everyone from behind. Our first time in, and only time with the Jedi, we lost a couple of guys but were able to work our way back to the escape pod and got out in one piece.
Some Guardian Jedi have commented that they are coming in very handy healing the combat specialists that receive various HAM damage, wounds, and state effects. With their amazing abilities they can one up a Combat Medic and create a nice twist to the missions.
Blast damage and Electricity are the two types of damage most creatures are less-effective against. Some of the targets have less resistance to heat as well, but I have yet to encounter them. As a result, from what I have read up on, Master Swordsman are the best choices for combat damage based on their damage type. Commandoes are good since they can provide a nice output of flame damage with their Flamethrowers when needed. Commandoes also can inflict damage with their Launcher Pistol for targets sensitive to Blast, but this is not their attack of choice. Fencers are fantastic meat-shields as their Dodge and Center-of-Being can keep them in great shape. My Master TKA while not much help with damage (as targets don't respond to my Knockdowns & Dizzies), is great for wound healing through Meditation 4. Make sure to have a Combat Medic and a Doctor along, or two Doctors at the minimum this will keep you alive when jumped by stronger targets.
Do players who complete their task on the ship get a badge like the Project Deadeye quests? (Star Wars Galaxies)
Yes you do. In our group, upon completion of the Imperial Assassination mission, we received a badge - The Imperial Medal of Honor - and then returned to the Imperial outpost to receive our reward, which was the AV-21 Schematic. The text in your Bio, when you're examined reads:
...has been recognized as an elite Imperial Soldier for work in eliminating key Rebel personnel onboard a fully functional Rebel Blockade Runner.
Hope some of these responses help you get the most from the Corellian Corvette adventure. It is a spectacular quest, and a fine challenge for those master players out there who are bored with the ho-hum of traditional events. Good luck!
